Behind the Lens

My journey as a Fine Art Nude Photographer creating work for Galleries, Art Collectors, and Commissions.
"What spirit is so empty and blind, that it cannot grasp the fact that
a human foot is more noble than the shoe
and the human skin more beautiful than the garment with which it is clothed."

They want to know from women, are you spiritual or sexual?People wonder about Solomon and all his wives. In the body of the world, they say, there’s a soul, and you are that. But we have ways within each other which will never be said by anyone.

From Within
Here is a brand new image I created on Friday the 16th. Untitled and I’m not sure where this belongs on my website yet so I think I’ll just share via the blog for now.
I shot this in my very small office/studio here in Atlanta. It isn’t my first attempt at nude self portraiture, but I can say I haven’t really explored that area.I used my canon 30D and a 50mm lens and just barely made it into the frame. I’m really excited about the way this piece came out. It was inspired by another image I had seen a while back but I don’t remember the artist… sorry.

Update: Since this post I was able to find the source I mentioned. She is a wonderful photographer named Anca Cernoschi you can view her work and my inspiration here: http://ancacernoschi.blogspot.com/

A Season of Bliss 31 & 32 on Canvas

Bliss #31 & #32 on Canvas are 2 large 24”x36” pieces from a large body of work by photographer Tania Calderón. Textured Canvas Print.

The images are of a woman in the nude with curly hair bent forward.
These are intended to capture the true essence of freedom from clothing and a natural state of being.

For more information on this exhibit and it’s collection visit http://www.calderonfoto.com

I’d like to welcome you to “A Season of Bliss”.

The Mattress Factory Lofts hosts a monthly art show, featuring one of the residences artist and their work. This August 26th 2011, come join us, as Tania Calderón will be featuring her most recent collection of Fine Art Nudes entitled, “A Season of Bliss”.

I chose A Season of Bliss and this particular color pallet to express the light and hue during the summer’s sunrise & sunset. My emotions while capturing the images were that I wanted to express feeling free, and it was important for me to allow my model to just let go of all inhibitions and really live for the moment. She’s a goddess of nature in my work, a sister to our mother earth, and a direct extension of the child in us all so very innocent.

My inspiration to almost all of my nude work is in the dance and movement; the human form in the flesh is full of truth and without any worldly limitations. There’s something free about the union of body & spirit, and I think that somewhere in the back of our minds we remember that feeling of freedom.

The event will be held from 7pm -10pm and refreshments will be served. We ask that you park on either MLK, or the two adjacent lots beside the gates.

Your RSVP is appreciated.

Mattress Factory Lofts are located at the northern end of Grant Park, next to Oakland Cemetery, adjacent to the King Memorial MARTA station and blocks to downtown and the Capitol.
